It's been a pleasant winter here in the Shuswap, but I bet you're all starting to think about summer now, aren't you?
Well we are. And we've got a lot happening on the farm this season, which I'm excited to tell you about! We're taking a break from the fruit stand for this season and we're launching a CSA Food Box program! We're very excited to have the opportunity to focus more on getting the most from our farm, start up a CSA and build a stronger market presence. Don't worry, you'll still be able to stop in for pies, ice cream and Okanagan fruit at the stand, just different management for this year (Don). We've been busy planning our crops and working out the details. The food box will run for 12 weeks, starting at the end of June or beginning of July. There will be a single share for $300 and a double for $450. There will be a bread add-on option as well as a limited number of egg add-ons available. The boxes will feature a wide array of the diversity our farm has to offer, including our "famous" corn, strawberries & raspberries, plus all the other seasonal offerings along the way - lettuce, carrots, beets, fruit from our orchard, peas, potatoes, and more. If you are interested in a steady supply of freshly harvested, organically-grown fruit and vegetables, get in touch with us! We would love input, and to start signing people up! Also planning a winter root box too, but even MORE exciting than a box of beets is the news that Golden Ears Farm is having a baby! Specifically, Kelsey is due in June. Exciting, huh?
